Contracting with asymmetric information in the presence of positive network effects: Screening and divide-and-conquer techniques
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper shows how pessimistic expectations reduce the e¤ectivity of monopolist screening techniques with positive network e¤ects, and demonstrates how divide-and-conquer strategies may solve the consumers coordination problem. In the sequential mechanism, di¤erent expectations about future network sizes become relevant in the incentive constraints of di¤erent consumer types. Screening consumers is less costly in later periods, so pooling may be bene cial in early stages of contracting. The joint presence of asymmetric information and positive network e¤ects yields a strict downward distortion from the welfare-maximizing quantity scheme, while unique implementation has further downward distorting e¤ects. Free Vibration Analysis of Repetitive Structures using Decomposition, and Divide-Conquer Methods
This paper consists of three sections. In the first section an efficient method is used for decomposition of the canonical matrices associated with repetitive structures. to this end, cylindrical coordinate system, as well as a special numbering scheme were employed. In the second section, divide and conquer method have been used for eigensolution of these structures, where the matrices are in ...

This paper presents the structural design for huge systems using Divide & Conquer (D&C) method as a scientific method for optimum designing of complex systems. This method divides the main system into several simple subsystems. Submitted equations in three different cases prove that the optimum response (number of subsystems for minimum system complexity) is independent of main system complexit...
متن کاملAssessing the factors affecting liquidity by focusing on the capital adequacy ratio of the banking network and its asymmetric effects
Liquidity , as the most important variable of the money market , has a significant role in economic performance from various aspects and therefore it is important to identify the factors affecting liquidity. Considering that one of the channels to increase liquidity is loans paid by the banking network and the effective role of capital adequacy ratio in the payment of bank loans, in the present...

There is no convergence in the results of the credit relationship between the financial contracting parties (banks and customers) due to the different importance of the contract variables. Therefore, while examining the impact of the empirical relationship between the variables commercial profit-loss sharing contracts, the dual role of the collateral variable (screening and motivation) is in...
متن کاملThe Asymmetric Effects of Tax Revenues on Government Expenditures in Iran
The tax-expenditure hypothesis posed by Milton Friedman emphasizes a positive causal relationship between government tax revenues and government expenditures. If citizens do not have a correct perception of the real tax burden and under-estimate the price of public goods and services, there is a negative causal relationship between tax revenues and government expenditures, which indicates exist...
